emap awards – entry terms and conditions

Effective 1 May 2025

1. Eligibility

  • Awards are open to UK-based individuals, businesses, and projects meeting the eligibility criteria outlined for each specific category.
  • Some categories may allow international entries where relevant. Full eligibility details will be clearly stated in the individual category descriptions.
  • Entries must relate to work or achievements completed within the stated eligibility period for the award.

2. Submissions

  • All entries must be submitted online via the official emap awards entry portal.
  • Entrants are responsible for ensuring entries are complete, accurate, and submitted before the published deadline. Late or incomplete entries may be disqualified.
  • Each entry must include all required supporting materials in the correct format and within the specified file size limits.

3. Entry Fees

  • Where entry fees apply, they must be paid in full at the time of submission via the payment method provided.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable, regardless of outcome.

4. Judging

  • Entries will be reviewed and scored by an independent judging panel appointed by emap.
  • Judges will evaluate submissions against the published category criteria.
  • The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. Intellectual Property and Permissions

  • By submitting an entry, entrants confirm they have the right to use and share all content, images, and materials included.
  • Entrants grant emap a royalty-free licence to use submitted content for the purposes of judging, promotion, and awards coverage.

6. Confidentiality

  • Entries will be treated as confidential by judges and emap staff. Sensitive or commercially confidential material should be clearly marked as such.
  • Entry material may be used for promotional purposes; emap will seek approval before publishing sensitive content.

7. Disqualification, Withdrawal, and Cancellation

  • emap reserves the right to disqualify or withdraw any entry at any stage if it is inaccurate, non-compliant, or in breach of these terms and conditions.
  • emap may also cancel an entry, without refund, where an entrant engages in behaviour that could harm the integrity or reputation of the awards or emap.
  • Awards may be withdrawn after announcement if new material facts come to light that affect the fairness or legitimacy of the result.

8. Publicity

  •  Finalists and winners may be required to take part in publicity relating to the awards, including the use of names, job titles, company details, and photography.

9. Accessibility

  • emap is committed to making its awards programmes accessible and inclusive. Please advise us of any access or support requirements at the point of entry or as early as possible.

  •  These terms and conditions are governed by English law, and all parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.

12. Additional Terms – Women in Awards Programmes

  • Eligibility for entry to the Women in Awards programmes is limited to individuals who, identify exclusively as women and are publicly and professionally recognised as women within their industry or sector.
  • Some categories within these programmes may be open to all genders. Where this applies, it will be clearly stated in the category description.
