Property Week's ESG EDGE Conference and Awards is committed in the journey to becoming more sustainable. Please find attached our Sustainability Policy here. We will be closely evaluating each event and considering how we can improve in the following areas; energy; transport, water usage, recycling, economic and local environment.
TRACE BY ISLA
The ESG EDGE Conference and Awards will be using TRACE by isla to measure our carbon footprint. The TRACE platform works with the event organisers, suppliers and attendees to measure and minimise carbon at our event. TRACE is the definitive carbon measurement platform for sustainable events, the industry body driving events to a net zero future. More information about TRACE can be found here.
isla is an action-driven network that is working towards accelerating the event industry to a sustainable future. Bringing together expertise from across the entire events sector to give its members confidence, knowledge, and resources needed to deliver sustainable events confidently and consistently. More information about isla can be found here.
VENUE
The inaugural ESG Edge Conference and Awards will be hosted at the Hilton, Bankside, a venue dedicated to maintaining ESG standards. The Hilton, Bankside emphasises the use of recyclable materials, reducing carbon emissions, and minimising water usage. Their 'Travel with Purpose' initiative highlights Hilton's commitment to redefining and advancing sustainable travel and tourism.
COLLABORATING WITH TREEAPP
We’re proud to plant trees in Ethiopia with Treeapp, a leading global tree planting organisation operating sites across the world. With a dedication to reforest our planet, their work spans across 4 continents, having reforestation projects across 15+ countries with a specific focus on countries where they’re most needed. We are planting trees across Ethiopia to help reduce poverty among communities. Tree's planted aid soil stabilisation, preventing landslides and providing fruits and nuts to the local.
The main objective of the reforestation activities in the north of Ethiopia is to restore water retention and nutrient levels in soils. To promote soil stabilisation, the local planting partner focuses their efforts in regions which are relatively bare in forest cover. Rural villagers benefit from the projects, providing them with opportunities for subsistence farming and income.
