Charitable Initiative of the Year
Honouring exceptional charitable efforts within the property sector that contribute to the well-being of people and the environment. The entrants should focus on the exceptional contributions to the well-being of both people and the environment, demonstrating a significant positive impact. Entrants can be made by non-profits with a particular connection to the real estate sector, or by for-profit property firms that have engaged in significant fundraising efforts, pro-bono projects, or comparable initiatives during the eligibility period.
Consultancy of the Year
Honouring large consultancy firms (of more than 250 employees*) that provide outstanding Sustaibability guidance and support to their clients in the property sector. Entrants will be evaluated based on their consultancy firm's excellence in delivering innovative and impactful Sustaibability-related services, showcasing expertise, client impact, measurable outcomes, and thought leadership in promoting Sustaibability principles.
Entrants should be able to demonstrate a particular internal or client milestone or outcome, or quantify their overall impact, during the eligibility period.
Education and Awareness Initiative
Celebrating initiatives that promote education and raise awareness about Sustainability principles and their importance in the property market. Judges will be looking for education and awareness initiatives that effectively and creatively promote the understanding of Sustainability principles and their significance within the property market, emphasising their impact on communities, the environment, and the industry. Long-term programmes are eligible, but entrants should clearly outline what positive impacts have been achieved during the eligibility period.
Excellence in Community Engagement - Partnerships
Celebrating and acknowledging initiatives that demonstrate outstanding partnerships to effectively engage and collaborate with local communities, creating positive and sustainable impacts. Entrants will be evaluated based on their community-centred approach, stakeholder collaboration, empowerment, inclusive practices, measurable impact, innovative strategies, transparency, long-term commitment, and evidence of stakeholder feedback.
Ongoing or multi-year projects are eligible, but entries should clearly outline what, in particular, has been achieved during the eligibility period.
Excellence in Community Engagement - Regeneration
Celebrating and acknowledging initiatives that focus on community-centred regeneration projects, effectively engaging and collaborating with local communities to create positive, sustainable impacts. Entrants will be evaluated based on their regeneration-focused approach, stakeholder collaboration, empowerment, inclusive practices, measurable impact, innovative strategies, transparency, long-term commitment, and evidence of stakeholder feedback.
Ongoing or multi-year projects are eligible, but entries should clearly outline what, in particular, has been achieved during the eligibility period.
Excellence in Habitat Restoration
Celebrating initiatives that actively restore and protect natural habitats and wildlife, promoting biodiversity. Entrants for this award will be assessed based on their active efforts to restore and protect natural habitats, promote biodiversity, and contribute positively to the environment. These can be direct contributions within project sites, external projects in partnership with biodiversity specialists, or similar efforts. Long-term restoration projects are eligible, but entrants should clearly outline what positive impacts have been achieved during the eligibility period.
Excellence in Site Regeneration
Recognising projects that have revitalised or transformed a neglected, derelict or brownfield site, breathing new life into an existing space with a strong focus on nature, sustainability or social value. Entrants will be evaluated based on the skill and dedication brought to the transformation as well as outcomes that demonstrate a significant positive impact on the community and environment.
Long-term regeneration projects are eligible, but entrants should clearly outline what milestones have been reached during the eligibility period.
Outstanding Achievement in Sustainability
Commending those who have made significant contributions to advancing Sustainability principles and sustainability in the property industry, as nominated by peers and colleagues. Please nominate who has demonstrated contributions to advancing Sustainability principles and sustainability in the UK property industry.
Sustainable New-Build Project
Recognising large-scale, new property developments that set high standards in sustainability, social value, stakeholder engagement and other aspects of good governance (estimated gross development value above £50m*). Entrants will be evaluated based on their ability to set clear objectives, demonstrate insightful approaches, execute innovative solutions, develop business relationships with integrity, and provide evidence of tangible results.
To qualify for entry, a significant part of the scheme must have opened or reached practical completion during the eligibility period.
Sustainability Leader of the Year – Individual
Awarding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting sustainability values within the property sector. Entries should focus on recognising individuals who have exhibited exceptional leadership by actively promoting and implementing Sustainability values and principles, contributing positively to the sustainability and ethical standards within the property sector.
Entries can outline long-term achievement as well as any particular milestones reached during the eligibility period.
Sustainability Investor of the Year
Awarding investors who exhibit a strong commitment to Sustainability principles in their investment strategies and property portfolios. Entrants will be assessed based on their exceptional integration of Sustainability principles into their investment strategy, demonstrating positive impacts on portfolio sustainability, financial performance, innovation, stakeholder engagement, transparency, industry influence, and a long-term commitment to Sustainability principles within the UK property market.
Entrants should be able to demonstrate a particular milestone or evidence of sustained impact during the eligibility period.
Sustainability Employer of the Year
Recognising companies that prioritise - practices in their workplaces, fostering a sustainable and responsible corporate culture. Judges will be seeking companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability practices within their workplaces, promoting a culture of sustainability, responsibility, and ethical conduct among their employees. Entrants should clearly outline what positive impacts have been achieved during the eligibility period.
Sustainability Agency/Team of the Year
Recognising larger agencies or in-house Sustaibability teams (of 51 or more employees) that have delivered outstanding Sustaibability leadership within the property market. Judges will look for evidence of successful integration of Sustaibability across large or complex organisations, with a focus on innovation, impact, transparency, and measurable outcomes during the eligibility period.
Sustaibability Developer of the Year
Honouring property developers who lead by example in integrating sustainability principles into their projects. Judges are looking for property developers who exemplify a strong commitment to sustainability principles by showcasing innovative, transparent, and sustainable practices, demonstrating positive community impact and long-term commitment to Sustainability integration in their projects. Entrants should be able to demonstrate a particular milestone or project completion, or quantify their overall impact, during the eligibility period.
Retrofit Project of the Year - Residential
Awarding projects that excel in retrofitting existing residential properties to meet modern sustainability and Sustainability standards. Entrants will be evaluated based on their ability to set clear objectives, allocate budgets efficiently, demonstrate insightful approaches, overcome obstacles, and provide evidence of tangible results achieved during the eligibility period.
Retrofit Project of the Year - Commercial
Awarding projects that excel in retrofitting existing commercial properties to meet modern sustainability and Sustainability standards. Entrants will be evaluated based on their ability to set clear objectives, allocate budgets efficiently, demonstrate insightful approaches, overcome obstacles, and provide evidence of tangible results achieved during the eligibility period.
Outstanding Placemaking – Small Scheme
Celebrating smaller development projects (estimated gross development value at or below £50m*) that have delivered outstanding improvements in sustainability, community well-being, or another aspect of social value through placemaking. Judges will be looking for projects that not only enhance communities and the environment but also exemplify a strong company commitment to core Sustainability principles such as integrity and transparency. The winning entry will demonstrate clear objectives, effective use of budget, innovative approaches, and tangible, measurable results.
To qualify for entry, a significant part of the project must have opened or reached practical completion during the eligibility period.
Outstanding Placemaking – Large Scheme
Recognising large-scale property developments (estimated gross development value above £50m*) that include a significant element of public realm. Entrants should demonstrate how the scheme will enhance communities and the environment at large. Judges will be looking for developments that demonstrate both outstanding vision and exceptional delivery, yielding results that not only benefit communities and nature but also exemplify corporate commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (Sustainability) principles. Entries should set out clear objectives, innovative approaches and imaginative solutions, as well as tangible, measurable results.
To qualify for entry, a significant part of the scheme must have opened or reached practical completion during the eligibility period.
Outstanding Carbon Reduction Initiative
This award will celebrate either an innovative development project or an effective corporate carbon reduction programme in the property sector, with an outstanding impact on carbon emissions. The winner will have achieved significant and quantifiable CO2 savings. Entrants will be evaluated on both their vision and their approach to delivery, and they must be able to demonstrate milestones reached during the eligibility period.
Project entries can relate to new-build or retrofit schemes, small or large.
